Holy Crap!

***Lucky for you all I decided to forgo any pictures along with this post!***

Sorry for the subject of this post...but I feel that most parents will understand and be able to relate! Tonight Steve was holding our sweet little E when I heard him say, "Oooh, I felt that one on my leg!" (While our baby may be our princess, she doesn't make princess-like sounds or smells.) Then he said, "Oh my gosh! That's why I felt it!" Followed by him running up the stairs yelling, "I could use some help with this one!" As I followed behind him I (luckily) looked down at the tile and saw a bright splatter the color of deli mustard. As I got up the stairs I saw a cute little girl covered in poop. It was disgusting! Steve hopped in the shower while I proceeded to change a very cute little bum. When I took of the diaper E decided to finish the job and piddle in the open air. I quickly covered her up, let her finish, and then wiped her down. After a quick shower with daddy I took her out and started drying her on the towel when she decided to live up to her new nickname of Squirt...that's right...she piddled again. So now we are left with one sweet smelling little baby and a large load of stinky, stained clothes.

P.S. Any awesome tips on how to get out breastfed baby poop? Feel free to share because I haven't quite mastered the art yet!

Boise Baby Shower

The week before I went back to work we were able to go to Boise for a little vacation and a baby shower. It was so much fun to relax and let people hold E for us! The shower was so much fun. I loved seeing most of the people I love from home. I just wish everyone could have made it! Thank you so much to Debbie and Linda and everyone who helped!!! I loved it!

Yummy food from the shower and the CUTE diaper cake!

Some of my favorite people were able to make it to the shower:

Little Miss got tons of snuggle time that week!

Thanks Mom and Dad and everyone who helped with the shower! It was so much fun!!!

Another Yummy Dinner

image taken from Taste the Joy

My new past time has become looking through food blogs. I star the yummy recipes on my reader and then go back later and try to make them. So far I have been very successful. I consider these blogs like the ward cookbook of the 21st century...recipes that are tried and true and really don't need much tweaking to make them to my taste. Here is another success: little cheddar meatloaves. Holy moly these were so yummy! The only changes I made were to use onion soup mix rather than onions because it was Sunday and my supplies were scarce; I also added a bit of ketchup to the meat mix because I really like "tomatoey" meatloaf. I am so glad I doubled this recipe so we can have leftovers this week...yum!

Clarification

My last post made it look like my mom and dad were trying to make it down here to visit little E...unfortunately it was us who were snowed in. Luckily we did make it to their house and we all had a wonderful time. We tuckered out Miss E everyday so much so that she slept like a champ!!! Hopefully I will post more on that week soon (if my brain doesn't poop out on me!).

Yummy Pizza

Tonight I was feeling spontaneous, and so rather than eating our normal Mexican pizza or meatloaf, I decided to go out on a limb. I made a Chicken Broccoli Alfredo pizza and it was delicious! I just used the cheap pizza crust mix from a bag (next time I'll use crescent roll dough or a home made pizza dough) and then made this yummy alfredo from Allrecipes.com.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 cups milk
6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta to serve.
I then boiled some chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. When it was done I shredded it and put it on the crust with the sauce and some frozen broccoli and mozzarella. Holy moly...this was awesome! We decided that it is going to be a staple in our house!

One Month Old

My baby is one month old today! I can't believe how time flies! I am finding that I am eating many of the words I said before I had a child. I always laughed at those moms that said things like, "I wish my baby would just stop growing...time goes too fast!" Now I am one of those moms! Last week at E's 3 week appointment she measured in at 21.5 inches and 8 pounds 14 ounces. She is becoming a chunk (at least in her cheeks and chins!). She is becoming more and more aware of sounds and will respond to my voice (which I love!). She is doing better in the nights...meaning she actually goes back to sleep after her 2-3 feedings. Sadly her hair is thinning out, but we know that more luxurious locks are to come. E has the strongest neck of any little baby I know. We've decided that it is a Burden trait as all of the other grandkids have been able to hold their heads up very early as well. We love every inch of this cute little girl! I just got a new camera and have just barely figured out how to get the pictures from it to my computer. Here are some pictures of her last few weeks of life.
This last one is totally for the grandparents!
