Washington-May 2010

Steve finished his semester at the end of April. We are loving his new-found freedom! In May we decided to take a little impromptu trip to visit Steve's parents in Washington. It was such a fun and relaxing trip! We made a list of all the things we wanted to do while we were there, and ended up doing all but one or two of the items.

We introduced the Little Miss to Edaleen dairy in Lynden, WA. This is one of our favorite ice cream stops. Our days were starting pretty early so we ended up having ice cream as a morning snack. Miss E was not complaining!

Every afternoon was spent in the backyard in the gorgeous sunshine! (At the time, the weather in UT was less than desirable.) We learned that Miss E loves being sprayed by the hose, even fully clothed. : )

She really loved being pulled in the wagon. E would wait in it until someone was willing to drag her around the yard: mom, dad, grandma, aunts, anyone!

We were able to visit Larrabee State Park, which has a beautiful beach full of tide pools and a fun park. Miss E loved exploring the rocks and pools. She even got a little taste of some kelp...yuck! We had fun finding starfish and little crabs, too.

We took a trip to the Olympic Peninsula to visit Port Townsend, Fort Warden, and Sequim. We took Steve's mom and nephew, Henry. Henry loves E and she loves him back! They were so cute in the car! E got to take her first ferry ride, which was really fun.

Family picture attempt...FAIL

Steve used to go to Fort Warden for wrestling camp. It was a World War I military camp that is full of huge cement bunkers and look outs. It is now open to explore...a perfect place for a man-child like Steve and his 12 year old nephew. I won't lie, I had a blast too! Luckily for us, Grandma was willing and excited to take the little Munchkin while we went hiking and climbing through these huge buildings.

Family picture attempt 2...success!

Grandma and Miss E bonding in the back seat.
After lots of eating out, naps, movies, and playing, it was time to head back. We were greeted with this beautiful sky and a beautiful sleeping baby to end our trip.
We are so grateful to have a family that loves to have us visit at any time. We are also grateful that they live in such a beautiful place!
