Clarification

My last post made it look like my mom and dad were trying to make it down here to visit little E...unfortunately it was us who were snowed in. Luckily we did make it to their house and we all had a wonderful time. We tuckered out Miss E everyday so much so that she slept like a champ!!! Hopefully I will post more on that week soon (if my brain doesn't poop out on me!).

Yummy Pizza

Tonight I was feeling spontaneous, and so rather than eating our normal Mexican pizza or meatloaf, I decided to go out on a limb. I made a Chicken Broccoli Alfredo pizza and it was delicious! I just used the cheap pizza crust mix from a bag (next time I'll use crescent roll dough or a home made pizza dough) and then made this yummy alfredo from Allrecipes.com.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 cups milk
6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta to serve.
I then boiled some chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. When it was done I shredded it and put it on the crust with the sauce and some frozen broccoli and mozzarella. Holy moly...this was awesome! We decided that it is going to be a staple in our house!

One Month Old

My baby is one month old today! I can't believe how time flies! I am finding that I am eating many of the words I said before I had a child. I always laughed at those moms that said things like, "I wish my baby would just stop growing...time goes too fast!" Now I am one of those moms! Last week at E's 3 week appointment she measured in at 21.5 inches and 8 pounds 14 ounces. She is becoming a chunk (at least in her cheeks and chins!). She is becoming more and more aware of sounds and will respond to my voice (which I love!). She is doing better in the nights...meaning she actually goes back to sleep after her 2-3 feedings. Sadly her hair is thinning out, but we know that more luxurious locks are to come. E has the strongest neck of any little baby I know. We've decided that it is a Burden trait as all of the other grandkids have been able to hold their heads up very early as well. We love every inch of this cute little girl! I just got a new camera and have just barely figured out how to get the pictures from it to my computer. Here are some pictures of her last few weeks of life.
This last one is totally for the grandparents!

What a Cutie!

I just wanted to post this collage of some of E's cutest outfits so far... : ). Don't worry, there will be many more to come. (Being home alone with her all day I don't have much more to do than play dress up!)

So In Love

I have totally fallen head over heels in love with this little girl! Miss E has captured my heart. I always wished and hoped for a snuggly baby and I couldn't have gotten anything better. After she eats, E will always snuggle up to whoever is burping her (usually me). She tucks her little legs in froggy-style and burrows her head into my chest. I love it! I love the way she gives us goofy grins in her sleep and snorts and squeaks. She is so fun... Now we just need to end her all night all you can eat buffet eating habits!!!

Saving Grace

The last few days Miss E has had a really stuffy nose. She has had a seemingly very difficult time breathing through her nose especially when she is nursing or falling asleep. We have tried the nasal aspirator over and over to no avail. Yesterday we bought this cheap humidifier from Walgreens and today I am singing its praises! We got tons more sleep last night and I credit it to the fact that girlfriend could breathe!!! Let's hope we can keep this up!
